Okay Weirdos, so it is August! Can you believe that summer 2016 is coming to an end?? Me neither! I am not ready. Can’t I just crawl back into my summer burrito and stay there until 2016 decides to change its mind and not keep going? This year is my son’s senior year in high school and I am not ready to face that music folks, not ready indeed. That, my friends, is a sad sad Celine Dion song that nobody wants to admit they listen to.
Anywho, even though I am not ready for the doom to come in August, I have slightly prepared myself to be prepared in my bullet journal. This month is quite similar to July but with more confidence and flare, just like me.
The first thing that I did was planned for August by writing out what pages and spreads I wanted to continue using and what needed to get the boot. I did this by making a spread that included this plan as well as a new color scheme, and a weekly to-do list of sorts. That is not really finished but I am seeing what works for me.
Since I made my plan for August in July, my next two pages have nothing to do with August but are still very important to me. The first is a sticker(one of a set) that is made to cover the entire page of an A5 sized bullet journal like the Leuchtturm 1917. This is a set of cover all stickers made to cover mistake pages. I used alternative curse words to add a personal touch while keeping it classier than I might be if I mess up a page. My stickers are made with a matte sticker paper and are pre-cut to fit the above-mentioned size and are made to be colored on as well. This sticker and its set can be purchased from my Etsy Shop called Francis & Talulah for a reasonable price. The page next to my Gosh Darn It sticker page was inspired by a fellow member of the Bullet Journal Junkies Facebook group and is a page dedicated to my life right now and things I can look back on later.
Next are my August memories and Tracker which have not changed much and I still love to do them.
Of course, I have kept the Gratitude log and as I have said before, this is something that I have done forever and I love the fact that somebody decided to incorporate this into their monthly routine in a bullet journal. Seriously, it is my one stop shop for everything.
I am quite proud of my next spread because it is 100% my very own idea and concept. I began to do this last month and this month is even better and more functional for my needs. I have a tracker for my paychecks, my tips, what I paid in bills, and what I spent on expenses like gas and dining out. I am also pleased to say that unlike last month, I am actually keeping up with this one.
For my monthly spread, I decided to do more of a calendar style and I find this style to be much more useful and aesthetically pleasing too. I have a color code for events, work days, work events, birthdays, holidays, and tasks. This is where I keep my work schedule so I look at this spread and follow it pretty closely and the calendar style is easy to read and navigate through.
Then, of course, we go into my daily pages and I do not usually mess with quotes but I really liked this one.
Okay, so last but not least is my newest addition to my bullet journal and again, this is one that I created on my own and it is called Instagram Land. It is my goal to be able to get to a point where I can do giveaway prizes, in fact, I already have some prizes and even more ideas. So I thought what better way than to do a giveaway for Instagram likes. Instagram Land is a play on the old Candy Land board game and as you can see us a way to track my Instagram follower count as well as when I plan to do some giveaways. I am in love with this tracker and cannot wait to share it with the world. But first, more Instagram followers.
That wraps up August so far and if you want to see this month’s layouts in a bit more detail check out my video below. Thanks again for stopping by and please leave me a comment below.
